The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, “Look! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!” (John 1:29; NLT).
Together with Christ we are heirs of God’s glory. But if we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering (Romans 8:17; NLT).
Lord,
I share my flesh with you,
Yet there is more to do.
Lord,
I share my mind with you,
My heart and spirit, too.
Lord,
I share my life with you,
My love, and all I am.
Lord,
May I become like you:
God’s sacrificial lamb.
He was oppressed and treated harshly, yet he never said a word. He was led like a lamb to the slaughter (Isaiah 53:7; NLT).
