My body

He became anguished and distressed (Matthew 26; 37; NLT).

Jesus left them a second time and prayed, “My Father! If this cup cannot be taken away unless I drink it, your will be done” (Matthew 26:42; NLT).

My body is a burden;
My mind, a source of pain.

My heart is full of anguish, Lord –
I know you felt the same.

Acceptance is my watchword;
Embracing loss, my goal.

Lord Jesus Christ, please strengthen me,
And heal my fragile soul.

Rejoicing is my target,
And constant prayer, my plan.

May I give thanks for all you send,
And do the best I can.

Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18; NIV).

Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth (2 Timothy 2:15; NIV).

Even though the fig trees have no blossoms, and there are no grapes on the vines; even though the olive crop fails, and the fields lie empty and barren; even though the flocks die in the fields, and the cattle barns are empty, yet I will rejoice in the LORD! I will be joyful in the God of my salvation! (Habakkuk 3:17-18; NLT).
