Hello to all readers. It was a great relief to me when I realised the truths expressed in today’s prayer…
Darkness and light
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; on those living in the land of deep darkness a light has dawned (Isaiah 9:2).
If I say, “Surely the darkness will hide me and the light become night around me,” even the darkness will not be dark to you; the night will shine like the day, for darkness is as light to you (Psalm 139:11-12).
I myself will see him with my own eyes – I and not another. How my heart yearns within me! (Job 19:27),
Father,
Thank you for showing me
That you are present in darkness,
Just as you are in light;
In suffering,
Just as you are in joy;
And in death,
Just as you are in life.
Thank you that beyond death
There is nothing to fear,
For you will welcome me home at last.
Then I will see your face,
And be forgiven,
Healed,
And reunited with you forever.
In Jesus’ name,
Amen.
