Peace

Let my speech settle like dew (Deuteronomy 32:2; NLT).

Then you would have had peace flowing like a gentle river (Isaiah 48:18; NLT).

Deep calls to deep in the roar of your waterfalls; all your waves and breakers have swept over me (Psalm 42:7; NIV)

Lord,
During my meditation,

May your peace fall on me,
Like a dew;

Pour down on me,
Like a waterfall;

Flow through me,
Like a river;

Fill me,
Like a lake;

Then bear me away,
Like an ocean.

Peace

I am leaving you with a gift – peace of mind and heart (John 14:27; NLT).

Yes, my soul, find rest in God (Psalm 62:5; NIV).

You will find rest for your souls (Matthew 11:29; NLT).

Slow down your body,
Till you find
God’s peace
Within.

Next, still your mind,
Until you find
God’s peace
Within.

Then calm your heart,
Until you find
God’s peace
Within.

And, last of all, relax your soul,
Until you find
God’s peace
Within.

Depression and anxiety

I will make a pathway through the wilderness (Isaiah 43:19; NLT).

Even the hard pathways overflow with abundance (Psalm 65:11; NLT).

I knew you before I formed you in your mother’s womb (Jeremiah 1:5; NLT).

I came that they may have life, and have it abundantly (John 10:10; NRSV).

Lord,

Life is hard –
Depression and anxiety
Still dominate my days.

Please help me as I choose
To change my thinking,
Forming new pathways
In my weary mind,

So I can re-connect
With all the peace
And happiness
You gave me

Long before you formed me
In my mother’s womb –

Then I will have
Abundant life,
At last.

Human beings

Everyone has sinned; we all fall short of God’s glorious standard (Romans 3:23; NLT).

How frail is humanity! How short is life, how full of trouble! (Job 14:1; NLT).

God created human beings in his own image (Genesis 1:27; NLT).

Lord,
We are all,
Without exception,
Imperfect,
Vulnerable,
Fragile
Human beings –
Just as you
Created us
To be.

Paradise

When you stand praying, if you hold anything against anyone, forgive them, so that your Father in heaven may forgive you your sins (Mark 11:25; NIV).

The Kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:21; NKJV).

Jesus answered him, “Truly I tell you, today you will be with me in paradise” (Luke 23:43; NIV).

Lord,
Help us
To forgive,
Heal,
Help,
And love
All those
Who hurt us –
Till life on earth
Becomes
Our paradise.

God is all

We are the temple of the living God (2 Corinthians 6:16; NLT).

The kingdom of God is within you (Luke 17:21; NKJV).

There is […] one God and Father, who is over all and in all and living through all (Ephesians 4:5-6; NLT).

Breathe in,
Breathe out –

Again,
Again.

Let go
Of thought –

Again,
Again.

The world
Retreats –

Again,
Again.

And God
Is all –

Again,
Again.

Holy Father

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength (Mark 12:30; NLT).

Love ye therefore the stranger (Deuteronomy 10:19; KJV).

Love your enemies! (Matthew 5:43-4; NLT).

Love your neighbour as yourself (Luke 10:27; NIV).

He loves us with unfailing love (Psalm 117:2; NLT).

Holy Father,
Sacred Mother,
Blesséd Sister,
Dearest Brother,

Hallowed Stranger,
Precious Foe –
May we love you
As we grow.

Cherished Daughter,
Treasured Son,
We are all
God’s precious One.

Valued Neighbour,
Dearest Friend –
May we love you
Till life’s end.

Love

Love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, all your mind, and all your strength (Mark 12:30; NLT).

Love your neighbour as yourself (Luke 10:27; NIV).

Father,
Please fill me
So full of love
For you
And other people,
That there’s no room
Within me
For anxiety,
Depression,
Hurt,
And fear.

A cry

Hear my prayer, O Lord, and let my cry come unto thee (Psalm 102:1; KJV).

Darkness is all around me; thick, impenetrable darkness is everywhere (Job 23:17; NLT).

Lord,
I’m tired of darkness –
Please give me your light;

I’m tired of being cold –
Please give me your fire;

I’m tired of feeling anxious –
Please give me your peace;

And I’m tired of being alone –
Please give me your love.
