In quiet prayer
I share with you
The secret riches
Of my shadow self,
Though you already
Know them very well –
My silent hurt
And bitterness,
Resentment,
Anger,
Envy, hate
And fear.
Then, as I integrate them,
One by one,
Into a fuller knowledge
Of my self,
Slowly, I change,
Growing towards completeness,
As I become
A little more like you.
